4th CSR Donors & Doers- The Art of Giving 2010

Date & Venue- 16th & 17th December 2010, New Delhi

‘Lack of proper education is mother of all socio economic problems, unemployment, poverty, over population, poor judgment, non governance, lack of family care etc’

Though the government at the centre or state keeps education on priority all the time, yet the results are never encouraging. With this thought as background, CSRL thought of taking up the issue of education in its annual program of Donors & Doers. The program was attended by some of the leading NGOs like PRATHAM, Street Survivors of India, Bharti Foundation etc. The program saw some of the best presentations on CSR & Education as well as international perspective on education. The participants were enthralled to hear two of the world renowned philanthropists Mr J.K.Sinha, an retd IPS officer who has started a school exclusively for the ‘Mushar” community of Bihar and Mr Shabnam Ramaswamy, from Street Survivors of India, an NGO working in Murshidabad. The program ended on the conclusion that a lot needs to be done on the education front and more corporate houses need to take up education in their CSR fold.
